Balto dog knee brace FUNCTIONS. They vary when splints are inserted or not.

WITH Rigid lateral and medial splints.
-It limits potential abnormal independent joint motion between the tibial and femoral bones of the dog knee.
-It helps the dog to keep the leg in extension, like crouches, and to learn to weight bear again.

WITHOUT Rigid lateral and medial splints.
-The Balto dog knee brace limits flexion and supports arthritic knee joint when walking.
-The limit of flexion also acts as a protection post-surgery for stitches and surgical implants from overactivity of the dog knee joint.
-Unilateral or bilateral brace are both available to support one or both back legs fo the dog.

It is part of the treatment options of pathology such as:
-Dog knee arthritis from old age, post ACL tear, or post luxating patella.
-(ACL) Dog Cruciate ligament tear as an alternative to surgery
-Dog Luxating Patella as a knee cap support.
-Post dog knee surgery such as ACL cruciate, patella, or fracture repair surgery.
